Technical SBC info needed

    Both were factory-correct configurations, depending on when the ***embly plant got their allocation of engines.

    GM was never as bad as Ford at this, but not all changes were strictly on the model year cutoff.
     
  2. They used them until they ran out i reckon. Then switched.

    I'm not guessing. I am an Engineer at GM. I looked it up in our archives.

  7. I was stating that I do have 2 vortec blocks one with and one with out fuel pump provisions !

    One came from a 98 burb and the other was in a 96 1500

    Nothing was mentioned about heads?
     
  8. Yeah the feller wanted to know how to tell if he had a one piece rear seal. The aluminum seal housing between the block and the flywheel.

    Thx everyone.....pulled the bell housing cover off and it is two piece.....great thing tho is the leak was actually the pan gasket....snugged it up and should be good to go.
