I got the Stromberg 97s rebuilt and ready..Next week I'll build the linkage.. I'm having the crab built, it will need four degrees to fit correctly..The cross overs are 1/2" quit enough to equalize.. I think this is one BAD**** INTAKE..Problem is I don't know what I'll do with it..More garage art.. Duane
Will you have to run all 4 together? Like a Man a Fre or can you run them progressive. Then who built the intake and how do I sign up for one.
You will have to run them all four together..PM me and we can talk about the ordering one.. I don't believe there is another one like this?????????? Duane.
I started the mockup of the linkage for the SBC..Now I'm going to measure and build the linkage..this is crude but functional..All throttle plates open and close at the same time..I'll use 1/4" aluminum round stock, cut to length and die cut left and right threads..They will attach to 1/4 X 28 heim joints..I had some old EELCO pieces and will use them also..This is the fun part..I built the transfer bar for a Weiand 4x2 staggered intake and used the same pattern.. Thought I would share..Will put pictures of completion.. Duane.
Well, I changed my mind on the linkage..This is less complicated and will operate nice and smooth..I found an old EELCO linkage piece and went from there..The fuel log is mocked in and will mount really nice..I will have to elbow off the 97 and the log, hope I can find a 45 degree fitting.. This is what happens when you get old, at least me, I change my mind but it seems to be for the better most of the time.. Duane..
How did you make the base.. is it thick plate or a casting ? I have had ideas about making my own intake but did not know how to go about creating the basic base to build off of. Oh by the way, that is great looking intake. wish I had something like that for my sedan when I built it. my 6x2 set up was nice but that looks good and is different (usually something that you dont see)
