Hot Rods sbc into a 46 ford

    my friend has a 305 sbc and has most parts for the swap has hurst front mount,speed gems bell housing adaptor, and pilot bushing, a b&b 10.5 pressure plate and ford disc, he needs a 168 tooth flywheel drilled for 10.5 b&b pressure anyone have one in good cond or where he can purchase one...thanks

    the specs says for 11 in clutch his is 10.5 may not work

    We had a 305 in our '91 OT car. Nice little engine. I believe they came out about 1976 or so.
    It had a bit of power to pull that car around.
    We had an a/t in it so I can't help you with the flywheel specs.

    He needs to know if it’s a 1pc RMS or 2 pc. If there’s nothing “off the shelf” that has the proper pattern, a machine shop should be able to lay it out for him.

    On all mine the hat fits either 11” diaphram or 10.5 B&B style. They have the same bolt circle. The Long was different.

    I did the same conversion in the early 70's, had the Chev flywheel drilled for the Ford long pressure plate, check the bellhousing on the flathead gear box is large enough to clear the pressure plate first.
