Here's mine that I picked up cheap (for a T-Bird) at the LA Roadster show last year. It's a beater '55 T-Bird with an IROC 305 SBC and turbo 350 already installed. That engine ain't pretty and isn't the most interesting power plant in the world, but the thing runs great and really hauls ass.

I plan to swap a 4 speed into it and road race the bastard.

Both professionally and on my own, I have violated some pretty nice and/or valuable cars and hardware. So, coming from me this might seem odd. Those cars can be worth quite a bit, and doing an engine swap isn't going to be considered a plus by most buyers.

On the other hand, it's only a car, it's your car, so do whatever makes you happy. If you adapted T-Bird valve covers to the Chevy most people wouldn't realize what they were looking at.

[IMG]427 stroker/AOD in a Little Bird. Silly rabbit, the distributor goes in the front of the engine. :) Mike

Most of my junk is Ford because my last car was a '61 Galaxie. Sold it and had a left over engine (Stroked 428 got done after car was sold). Wife suggested a 57 T'bird for our next senior car (over 25 years old). We wanted it to be fun to drive. It wanted to be a little different at the shows. Here's a link to my project FE/AOD conversion:

IMHO the owner gets to choose the build. For the brand loyal folks, there's plenty of T'birds for sale...build them any way you want.
