Technical SBC keeps dieing

So far I've only had chance to drive it twice for short runs and so far so good. Maybe ten minutes of running both ways both times. Not really enough to get great idea, but definitely longer than the drives when it died before.

 

I once had a hole in my muffler. I'd drive on the freeway and then exit --> Brake pedal would go to the floor!! It turns out the hole in the muffler was blowing exhaust right on to the metal brake line and boiling the brake fluid. Driving around town it would be fine. New exhaust fixed the problem.

 

It could be your coil. I had a similar issue and it was my coil.

 

Had a chance to get her out again tonight. Drove couple miles to parts store, parked for ten minutes while I returned few items, then drive 10-15 min to get girls ice cream at drive through, then another 10-15 min drive. NO issues! I also stopped for gas and after having dumped two gains in during problems, she only took another 1-1/2 gallons to full, so, obviously wasn't running out of gas. At this point, only other thing I did besides hack exhaust back together was cut battery cable from fuel line, it had been zip tied to keep position.

I guess unless problem re-presents I have to guess it was vapor lock. I'll keep posted if anything changes.

BTW....outside temps were in low to mid 90's. So plenty warm out.
