i have a old offenhauser 2x4 intake for my small block chevy thats going in my 63 nova g***er it will fit 2 450 holley carbs with no problem but the distributor is another story no clearance at all looking for some ideas on how to make this work im not sure but i think maybe if i run some tall carb spacers i might be able to fit a mallory in there with the short style cap any one here run into this before?
Mallroy or MSD used to sell a distributor that was flat for blower apps. Drop them a line. good luck!
I have a similar set up.....2x4 on a sbc and I use an early Mallory uni lite distributor....it fits fine, in fact it came off a blower engine. Get the optional voltage/amperage filter to protect the module, it is electronic. This dist. is still sold new.
I have one of each per the discussion. A mallory YL is pretty short and the marine version uses a flathead ford crab cap. How about this for the ole school look etc.... A Mallory Flatcap ( used in marine apps to be low), converted to electronic ignition with tach drive ( for that vintage g***er tach ).......built and curved for your engine.
