I am replacing a tired 305 in my 36 Austin with a 350. I am trying to save a few bucks by using as much stuff as I can off the 305. Will the flex plate and starter swap? Both motors are late first Gen. the 305 being from 83 and the 350 from 1980. Thanks

Yep, same crank n rods as 350 too. Most That year vintage used 153 tooth flex plate & smaller armature starter. If your lucky the 305 May be one of the last few with the bigger 168 tooth flex plate. More common. So long as starters stay with their perspective flex plates or if both flex plates are same tooth count you'll be fine. Good luck! Flux

Thanks, I was not sure if the smaller flex plate would be a problem in the 350 or if the starter would interchange (bolt up).

Depending on application a lot of 350's had/have the small flex plate. Unless the 350 is a high compression engine that needs the extra leverage a larger flywheel might provide you won't have a problem.
