thats what i'm hoping. i broke the cam in for 20 mins. then seen the water drip from the muffler and down pipe seam. i then started it for a min or 2 the next day and seen it again. tomarrow i'm doing the trans cooler, and final timming, and carb set-up. hope this goes away.
ok, i checked the oil dip stick no sign of water. i installed the trans. cooler today, then went over the timing with a good light. set the carb. and left it run up to temp for about 20 mins. shut it down and 3 hrs. later no drip, or signs of any water any where. must of been condensation. so now anyone know how much trans fluid a th350 holds? i know i have a dip stick, but need an idea so i can start filling. i put in 5 quarts so far.
Water is a by product of combustion so your likely to see it leaking for exhaust on any car.Twelve quarts of fluid on a fresh rebuild th350,five quarts on a filter change I believe.
as already said , a completely empty TH350 will hold about 12 quarts. you will probably only get 5-6 in at first. after you fire the motor , dump another 2-3 in. then check your level and fill as needed
Felpro head bolts come from the factory with a white sealer on the threads. But if yours didn't come with sealer then I've always put thread sealer on them. I've just used Permatex pipe thread sealer on head bolts and never had any leaks.
What 36 is saying is when oxygen (O2) and gasoline hydrocarbons (HC) are combined properly, they form carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). This water is present in all exhaust, but once the engine and exhaust is up to temp, it's in the form of steam and not seen. During warm up, it is condensed back into water by the cold exhaust system and will be seen coming out the exhaust.
