Hey Hambers, anyone ever mounted or know if it’s possible to mount a power steering pump on the passenger side of a SBC? Tight quarters in a 39 Plymouth pickup with a 327. Other wise I’ll just roll on with steering by Arm-Strong!! Thanks

There are several electric power steering units that guys are using on rods now, you just have to have room under the dash. I'd suggest doing as much research as you can on any particular unit though as some have minor issues when they are put in an early car like twitchy steering.
As far as mounting a saginaw pump on the right side of a 327 if you can fabricate you can probably modify an old York air compressor bracket that bolts to a small block to mount the pump rather easily. They normally were on the right side and most mounted so they were within the width of the exhaust manifolds.

Use a Saginaw TC Type II pump on the cylinder head front.

  8. used the type II^^^^^^with great success on a 37 chev and a 51 F1. Lots of mounts available both in the street rod market and the racing arena
