IIRC, s10's and Camaro's had a 10.5 in. pressure plate, maybe even smaller. Could the 11 in. Mustang disc be hitting the cover on the pressure plate and not letting the trans fully disengage from the engine? Still doesn't explain the throw out bearing though. Just thinkin' out loud here... Huh, definitely a possibility at this point. Tomorrow morning I am going to take everything out and see what it looks like but very possible I screwed up something simple like that

Although it might very well be a 10” disc, I bought all that about three years ago but for some reason 11” is in my head, will measure it tomorrow

Concentrate on how the lip on the TOB got bent. Look at the fork and how it sits into the fork too. Does it have clips that the collar slips under? Take some pictures as it comes apart.

Ok so got the clutch and pressure plate out and measured both, chances are it’s something obvious but my first time trying to set up a clutch from two different makes and models so go easy please haha, Bob I don’t know exactly where it bent the lip at bc I popped the bearing out when I took the tranny out not knowing it was bent IMG_2113.JPG IMG_2114.JPG IMG_2115.JPG IMG_2116.JPG IMG_2118.JPG

T/O brg. doesn't go on the fork like that. Someone will post a picture on how it goes. I don't have any pics that I know of. D

It's backwards and the fork should be in the groove

  10. Did you trim the bearing retainer that the bearing rides on?When I did mine I took off about an inch so it doesn't bind the bearing,or bottom out on the disc.

I did have a fork and a brg. though! That rivet for the spring looks a tad long on the brg side also. D IMG_1332.JPG

Damn amateurs! haha OK I had a feeling it was something basic. Anything else I need to look at when I put it all back in? Can't today bc my alignment tool is at work, but will do it this week. Thanks guys. No Irishsteve, I did not trim anything, I just put it together

I wouldn't trust that bent up TOB. Just to be safe I'd get a new one. Jedd

I am just want to be sure I have it set up right before I do something silly again haha. but thats the correct way to set it in the fork right? will get a new one today, and I am guessing that would cause my problems also.

The spring clip should be against the collar that got bent up.

Put a small dab of wheel brg. grease on the end of your pivot ball before you install the fork in the bell. In the picture of your pressure plate, it looks like a ring on the inside of the pressure plate spring. What did it hit, and did it damage the clutch plate? Also, most T/O brgs. have a groove on the inside of the collar that should have grease in it also. Just enough to fill the groove, don't go overboard with it or it can end up on the clutch plate. Center the brg in the fork and make sure the tail of that rivet isn't going to catch the edge of the t/o brg.

OK will do, Not sure what it hit if it did, possibly bc I had the tob in the wrong spot maybe? Also that looks like the correct length? Earlier on someone posted that there where 3 different sizes, the fork and brg are 85-91 chevy/gmc truck fork, not sure if those had different lengths as well

It doesn't seem to be touching the rivet when I turn it both ways it's spinning free and not hitting

I was concerned about the lip that was bent. Could be the camera angle. D

OK well I am tending to think that my whole dilemma was from the bearing being in the wrong spot, I'll get a new tob, grease the pivot and shaft etc, and put it back together and see what it looks like, looking online and only really see one size tob so guessing it's the right one I just had it in the wrong spot
