Today at the NSRA show in Milwaukee, a nice 40 Ford coupe had a sbc with valve covers that were wider at the top, tall, ribbed, two pc and made the SBC look vaguely like a big block. Sh--...no camera as I left it in my car.

I also saw a pair a couple years ago at a swap in Fondulac, but 2 guys were fighting over them so I let them go.

Any idea who made them? I have never seen an ad for them and I would like a pair.

From what I remember they were a bad 80's idea. You want wide valve covers, use a bib block!

Those ar imitation Flathead covers. Last time I saw them comercially avalible, it was by the same company that makes the Hemi valve cover adapters for the sbc. Find them, and you've found your covers.

Years ago Gennie Shifter marketed a two piece valve cover for SBC. might be the one your refering to.
