That's a 307 block into a 327 easier to stick the Steel crank in a 4" bore block. I've got sorta the same plan but I'm starting with a 2001 4 bolt roller cam block. On The desktop dyno it looks like it will be fun.
Waaayy late to the game but gotta add mine. last year had my '95 chevy 2500, 350 die and needed the truck running QUICK (it's my daily) had a forged .060 over flat-topped 283 built up for a twin turbo setup and was forced to use it. Not balanced, With self-ported Vortec heads (apprx 64cc) Comp ex268 cam, Ebay cheap vortec/carb intake and adapter for the TBI. Sounds MEAN but fuel maps were all over the place and running lean at times, but idled pig rich. (oil smelled of gas) So I went back with a Rochester carb and HEI. (Tuners said they would need the truck for a couple week$$, so no way) Still runs great and gets lots of thumbs up (for a 5000lb, extended cab, long flat bed, NV4500 and 3.42 gear/32" tire. @70 it's turning just at 2000rpms and gets about 14mpg. (I'm figuring around 8.3:1 compression) Not the greatest on gas but puts a smile on my face most every time I drive it. E
Next one WILL be a steel 327 crank, 6.0" rods in a .040 roller 350 block, Vortec heads (ported again) probably same cam (but roller) and higher compression. Looking for around 350ft lbs, and singin to 6500+rpms Maybe this summer... Promise!
350. Because for 10 years it never failed me and ate up a couple ford and dodges on the way. Did donuts proper!!! 350 L05 off a 91 Fleetwood broughm, carb'd it, alluminiun intake, spacer, Edelbrock everything Sent from my SM-J727T1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yeah lol at the stoplight in traffic all the time. Itching for the light to turn green... And once this one import car was on my ass driving real close highbeaming me so I slowly made a dead stop and burnt rubber on him and peeled out. Sent from my SM-J727T1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Let's say a 96-2001 roller block, some vortec heads and 327 flat top Pistons and a 307 crank. Not to shabby from some Extra clutter.
