    Hello,
I’ve read plenty of posts on here in the past but just joined. I have a bad case of “save them all” and there is no cure.
Got started 16 years ago with a 1966 Ford Galaxie 2 door. I had no place to work on it myself so I bought a 1965 Chevy short bed stepside. Did I say “save them all”?
    Sold the Ford.
    Bought a 1963 Chevy C10 fleetside and built a 2 bay shop with a lean-to. I’ll take delivery of a 1934 Chevy 5 window coupe in 5 days.
I joined to increase my knowledge. Right now I do everything myself except build engines. The 1934 Chevy will be a huge challenge.

Man-O-man 34 Chevy's are wicked cool! What are your plans? Keeping the suspension front and rear? I envision a big block with 4 speed. Good luck, Ron

Thank you for the warm welcome. Yes, I am very excited about this project but won’t be able to start for another six months because I have to finish up my 1963 Chevy truck. However, that doesn’t stop me from thinking and planning about how I’m going to approach this project. I already have a fresh SBC 283 ready to go. I like manual transmissions, but there are certain things that are frowned upon here on the HAMB. So I will not say more about that. This will not be an over-the-top build with tremendous horsepower. Instead, it will be something that you can just get in and drive comfortably and take it anywhere you want. I really like the fact that I am dealing with a blank canvas and I can do with it what I please. I think it will look great with a very mild chop top. I don’t think I’m going to channel the body. I’m still in the planning stage and haven’t made any final decisions about replacing the wood framing versus replacing it with steel.

  10. What a great start. I think your cardboard should read - Firstime with company- thanks for taking us along.

  12. The 9th picture in your weebly post - your no engine picture- has a piece of cardboard on the floor of your shop. It says Firstime and company, since this is your first go, and we are all watching, I thought it would be even more ironic if it read Firstime with company. It loses something when you have to explain it.

Sorry about that. I was a little slow to catch on. I guess I don’t pay much attention to what it says on the cardboard laying on the floor.

Newb to HAMB. Not so new to old Chevy C10 trucks 1960-66. Glad to be here.

  16. Loads of potential here and it looks like a ton of work, work the plan.

Thanks. Have not started yet. Need to finish the last few bolts on this 1963 Chevy short fleet bed.
