well i am finally decided on paint and a painter. a good friend of mine has a body shop (he is kc, from fast n loud) he is going to let me as much work as i want to save on cost. we are going to blast it and epoxy primer it. then we found a metalic color very close to the color it is now (im going glossy) and then a darker shade of the same color on the top in heavy flake. then scallops top and bottom. not going to be able to start until september and i shall start a thread when i do start.

The old time scallops look best to me, there are no square corners. I taped string to the center of the hood, over the fenders, and down to the bottom of the body near the rear wheel opening. That is the top line. I used pencil to mark the tip of each scallop on that line, and a margerine lid to make all the inside curves the same. More string to make all the lines straight, stand back to see if it looks good from a distance. 1/4 inch tape to get started, then 3/4 tape, masking paper, sand and shoot.

I always side with the "less-is-more" mindset with scallops, unless you're doing freeway scallops, then that is a different story!

My Girl's '54. We both hate the color but the layout is pretty good. I just wish they hadn't painted the whole rocker purple. We just lowered the car three more inches since this picture and because of that light color down low it still really does not look that low.

I actually like the color combo,I would consider having the scallops pin striped with a much lighter color to make them "pop" or turn the rocker into a thinner scallop like the ones above it.
