There was an ad in the miscellaneous section of the cl***ified that was advertising old Hot Rod magazines for sale. The posters name is Mikehotrodmags and he was selling the years 1948 the last 6 months and 1949 the first 6 months plus some 1950 Motor Trends for $100. I responded and inquired if they were still for sale and the seller said they were. I sent him the money by paypal last Thursday. He said he would send a tracking number but I never received it. I then asked another member if he had been in contact with the seller because he had posted a like on the ad. I just didn't feel right about the ad and explained to the other member how I felt. The other member thought about what I had relayed to him and decided to inquire if the magazines were still for sale just to see what the response would be., now this was 4 days after I had sent the money. Well the seller, Mikehotrodmags, told him that yes they were still available. I told a moderator about the situation and he pulled the ad and banned the poster, Mikehotrodmags. I'm posting to see if any other members reading this have responded to the ad and bought them also. I've already filed a dispute with paypal so hopefully I'll get my money back. Paid by credit card so if paypal goes south I'll file a dispute with the credit card company. His paypal and email address is tammysalls24@gmail.com which is registered to a company called C & E Landscaping and Lawn Maintenance and his phone number is (505) 221-2574 which is in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Hopefully nobody else fell for the scam.
I responded to the ad but something didn't feel right and i didn't send payment. Sorry he took your money. Hopefully you'll get it back.
I saw that ad also and thought it was just too good to be true and apparently it was. Thanks for the heads up.
Glad he is banned & that you put his info out for all of us to see. Guess I wouldn't want to get my lawn cut by him either......
I just looked it up, no C&E landscaping here, according to Google they are in Mesa Arizona. Interesting
I want to see how it folds for you. I was scammed through paypal once by a guy in Canada on one of my coupe doors. Paypal was on top of it along with my bank. My bank only took one week but it took about three months for the dust to settle. Hopefully not that long for you. Good luck and let us know the outcome. Sent from my SM-G930T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I had filed a dispute with PayPal and my credit card company. I received an email from PayPal saying that they have ruled in my favor and credited the money back to my credit card company. so everything is good. This is the first time in 11 years here on the H.A.M.B. that I've ever had a problem with a buyer or a seller. I guess there has to be a richardhead in every crowd.
I saw the add too and thought it was to good to be true. Luckily I was short on funds when I saw the add.
