Not long ago, I posted an ad for some parts on HAMB. Got an excellent response, but, as is occasionally the case, did not pay attention to the 'If It's Too Good" rule. This guy offered me the parts, shipping included, asked for a Moneygram. then Paypal. He suggested sending it as 'Friends and Family to avoid additional charges. Paypal is an excellent tool BUT, unless it is indeed a friend or family. you have absolutely no means of recovery. Your Money is Gone! Short Story.......DO NOT use Paypal Friends and Family for any kind of Parts/Service transaction!!
That's the way I roll also, the too good to be true was your first clue and the money gram was your second clue. And I'll bet the guy isn't a hamber, just a troll that has pilled this crap in the past. HRP
To avoid the "friends and family" problem on a couple of occasions I have paid the seller an additional 3% to cover the cost for them to use Paypal. Their costs are covered and in the event that issues arise I have some ability to control the situation. If I was looking to buy something from someone and they refused the additional 3% I can safely assume that they are trouble and at that point I would decide not to buy from them. My 2 cents...
