As RedOxide says in post 150, Google Earth is a great help. A few years ago i had doubts with a sale in a neighbouring country and said adress turned up in the middle of nowhere away from all civilization .
It's crazy that his IG account hasn't been shut down, I got booted from there for offensive material, with no warning. No drugs, no guns, no porn, no political opinions, but this scumbag is still there, I won't go back to ig
He is still up to the same ole' tricks. He advertised a Riley 2 Port just recently - using the EXACT pictures that came off of the HAMB 7 years ago - and even used the same description. Somebody needs to pay this dude a visit!
He has the ad marked “$old”. Along with a lot of others. Hope that many people didn’t get scammed. Or is that a part of his scammer marketing scheme?
I think it is all a part of how he scams folks. He has a lot of really COOL parts - at below market prices . . . he gets folks hooked in and cashes in on them. He now has some quick-change rears for sale - all his pictures and the descriptions came from the HAMB. He replicates the ads and then attempts to "sell" them to folks who are looking for the parts. What a POS!
Here is a link to some of the QC pics he stole: HALIBRAND 201 QUICKCHANGE REAR END | The H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com) And Another: V-8 201 QUICKCHANGE [ # TD 3.78 ] | The H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com) Here is his Ad on IG: Justin Bonera (@justin_robkustim) • Instagram photos and videos
Here is the T5 Conversion from Kato Kings he is trying to "SELL" as well: JEEP T5 WITH TORQUE TUBE ADAPTER | The H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com)
I just happened to stumble across this thread & I too am friends with the gentleman that got scammed. I've sold him a few gauges in past & he didn't mention the incident to me. We actually share our common interests, over & above buying a selling. I was pretty disheartened to hear it, because he such a genuine person. Since we both trust each other completely, I have acted as on intermediary a few times, like when he'd buy something off of Ebay, where the sellers wouldn't ship across the pond. I'd buy it & ship it to him. The thing is, it's not just money we lose with these bastards, it's a bit of faith in humanity. And, yes, no too long ago, I had something I sold here show up on FB Marketplace (weeks after the fact). I'm in PA & the "seller" was in MI. I did report it a few times to FB & it eventually disappeared, so who knows if my efforts paid off. I had mental urges to take it farther, but I'm old, busy & just don't need the drama. UGH!!
I recently got scam'd by someone impersonating Harbor Freight, said I won a Ryobi electric chain saw, just pay for shipping. I paid, then called HF to see if it was legit;... it was a SCAM. Called my credit card and canceled the payment. HF said people are scamming almost any name brand company at this time. Beware anything like this.
Remember if it's too good to be true, that's exactly what it is - too good to be true. I didn't sign up for any contest, so I don't fall for I just won - because I didn't win, nor sign up in the first place. I buy from people who are local / reasonable driving distance - cash / meet at a commercial or law enforcement location. I don't buy on line from people I don't know. I will buy from long time HAMB members who have history of being in good standing.
Justin just attempted to sell some Electroline headlights - that were here on the HAMB 7 years ago. I posted on his ad that he was a scammer - so he's blocked me and/or shut down his account (he will surface with a new one!). This SOB needs to be shut down and then sent to jail! Name: Justin Bonera, Beaumont TX . . . alias "scumbag" Here is what he was trying to sell - as it they belonged to him:
Dale, This "Scumbag" ripped my friend of. Luckily he has a good friend that dug into this. All computers have an IP address and can be generally located. He is slick and switches computers and uses his girlfriends PayPal acct for payment. Well this particular issue got resolved. My friends bank was able to get the money back even tho it was F&F transfer.
I can also confirm this guy is a scammer. A friend inquired about the Lincoln Zephyr trans he has for sale on Instagram and asked to call him. He refused to communicate with anything other than text. My friend said he would pay with the normal PayPal with the purchase guarantee and even pay the fees, but this POS refused to do that. My friend quit communicating him after that, but he said this POS then kept texting him "Where's my money, man?", so he blocked him. What an obnoxious prick!
Here is "contact info" -> anybody use this phone number with him: Justin bonera, here’s my number and address (409) 233-3001, 8605 Landis Dr, Beaumont, TX 77707. Email jrodzshop@gmail.com
At some point, this scumbag, will attract the attention of some modern day, motivated, electronically savvy bounty hunter, who just happens to be into hot rods as well ! There is nothing more intimidating, as when this scumbag, at random times, keeps looking down at his chest, noticing the focused red laser dot, and not knowing where it's coming from, or what it's actually connected to! .
The good thing is that folks like me who are not really on social media etc, have at least been made aware of such folks, and the few things to do to lessen the chances of getting scammed. I recently sold something to someone on here (It might have been my first time), but still made sure it was not F&F PayPal. Made sure money was deposited before I shipped it. All in all it was only about $70, but still good practice for me.
I bet this guy is sitting at an internet cafe in Abuja wondering why everyone thinks that the name, address and phone numbers he supplied are real.
Asked him about wooden seat back frame dimensions... he said OK he will take dimensions for me but never got the answer. Reported his account but i think it is still active. I think it`s a good idea to ask about additional photos or some dimensions. If he do not own the part he simply can`t provide it.
