My 51 Chevy has a 36 chevy straight axle under it with a stock box. It's a big block w/450hp and the thing is frightening going down the strip. Help. I didnt build the car but I love the look and want to be safe. I'm 60 and don't need the crap scared out of me, it comes out just fine. What do I need to do cross steeting? Gary
Scary is caused by simple stuff sometimes; not enough caster setting also if the front tires are toe'd out loose steering links etc which makes for steering wheel slop. did they do weird or loose parallel leaf spring mounts and shackles?
mabey post some pics. so we can see what were working with what is it doing.. shaking ?????? ...jeffrey
Having a little toe-in is really important, and check for slop in the front wheel bearings while you're there.
do the simple stuff first.check all the bushings, try the simple stuff first.....Im going thru my 56 axle car as we speak............same problem
