Met a guy in Paso who suggested I use it instead of plastic. What is it, where do I get it, how do I use it? Thanks -stick

The Duragl*** I am familiar with is a fibergl*** body putty.
I believe you can buy it at any Napa or any CarsRus.

That is exactly what I do too. Bondo will tend to crack if it gets too thick. The duragl***(which is actually a brand name) is very hard and you can get away with using it as a base for areas that need that "Extra" filling.

I don't recomend finishing with it though. It is more pourus and will tend to leave pinholes easily and it is very hard and not easy to sand. It's best to rough it in with a grinder or a 8inch hog and then use some good quality filler over to finish the repair.

yep that is what we ued it for. Used filler over it.

  7. Everyone above hit the nail on the head- its good stuff- its waterproof BUT it does nor feather off well so thats why you can skim it with regular bondo.

Save yourself some money, shred some fibegl*** fabric and mix it in with your current filler. This is just a convenient way to get a reinforced filler in a can, you make it yourself...

The **** **** to sand if hard, start sanding while still a little soft (just after it gets hot!), any paint supply should carry it. It's cool stuff when in a place that is too f*ked up to use body filler. Use 36 grit paper to sand it, then body filler with 36 to 80 followed by spot filler. Primer sand once of twice more and wal-ah! paint, prime what ever and it should look great!
