Does anyone have a link to what the insides of a Schroeder TQ/Mini Sprint steering box look like?
I may have to open mine up and I'd like to know what to expect in there!
    Thanks![IMG][IMG]

Pull the pitman arm side out. Comes right out easily and you san see worm gear and pitman arm gear, where if damaged will probably be there. The back cap and front cap are there to hold bearings.

If it's damage on the big gear just roll it around to an unused spot. If not it will need repair. They are still in business.

Thanks guys! I was expecting a steering box problem but found the ball joint at the pitman arm and drag link was nearly frozen!

I would still like to see a blow-up of what the box looks like inside!

  6. Call Gary Schroeder. If there is an exploded view, he can tell you where to find it.

I took care of the problem last night! From looking at Schroeder parts on Google I think I know what's in there.
The steering would stick and not return to center coming out of a turn. I think the box was pretty dry!
I replaced the plug in the top with a 90° grease fitting and packed it with Lucas Red and Tacky!
Now with the front end off the ground it feels free from lock to lock!
