They look neat, BUT, now you will need to change oil more often. (if you want the engine to last very long)

Of the two I prefer the scoops, but since the engine height dictates no hood and you have a rare Man-a-Fre intake, splurge a little.

    That evens the score,
so far we have one for scoops,
    one implied air filters,
    one for the tubes and
    one completely different.

If you plan on driving you rig, and you should, put some good air filters on it. You can pick up some pretty cool looking air cleaners now. Dirt, bugs & **** being ****ed thru your carbs is bad news! It's your engine & money, you decide what you want to do with both.

I think the tubes are cool. What about tubes that come
up about 3" and brack at about a 45 degree with slash cuts?

    I'm still undecided,

I think I will take along a grab bag of tubes scoops and filters depending on the mood of the day.

    The scoops for sure.

The stacks wouldn't be bad but I think they would need to be angle cut.

    stacks w/ 30° cuts

  25. Thought the scoops were hokey 'til I saw the whole car.

I like the stacks better, but I'm a stack fan.

the question is you gonna drive it or look at it? Changin' the oil won't keep the birds outa your ports.

For looks I'd go with the stacks, for drivin' I'd hang somethin' on to keep the birds out.

On the other hand if I were still a young pup and don't know what I know what I know today, I'd say hell with it and run the stacks anyway. [IMG] When it wears out, and that could take awhile (unless you drive to eastern OR when they're plowing the sugar beet fields), I'd rebuild and upgrade. Huffed with a pair of Enderle barndoors... if it don't make ya dirty it aint yours [IMG]

Pop an oiled foam filter on top of each stack, secure them all with one length of twisted barbed fence wire, and everybody will have to admit it has at***ude.

I like the scoops when you see the whole car. I think the stacks would look better if you angle cut the tops and cut the front ones shorter, so the tops were level with the "hood line".

On the scull air cleaners, I think someone should cut the bottom jaw/carb adapter loose, then pivot the top portion and hook it to the throttle linkage, so when you stand on it you get... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Or in this case:

    [IMG] [IMG]

Just give me credit for the idea when you do it [IMG]
