My buddy stopped at a yard/moving sale 2 days ago, he is a never meets a stranger kind of guy. He spots a 1957 Chevy pickup, short bed, small window sitting in back to the side of the garage and inquires if it's for sale.
Long story short he buy's it, the guy delivers it yesterday with a few spare parts tossed in the bed of the truck. To his amazement in the bed was a Frankland quick change off an old roundy round car.
It came with an extra set of loose rear gears, both Wilwood Aluminum disc brake calipers, both wide 5 hubs and all the brackets to attach. The only thing missing is the axles. The spare gears were wired to the axle housing and had some surface rust so I submerged them in Evaporust today to see if they will cleanup. IMG_1945.JPG IMG_1946.JPG IMG_1947.JPG IMG_1948.JPG
Needless to say he was tickled pink, and we are just getting started on dissecting it all.

You and me both, every time I stop it's a pile of clothes laying in the dirt.

Yeah we figured someone's hot rod pickup. Don't really have any info on where the quick change came into play with the truck but we are guessing since the guy is moving out of California he just wanted all the car **** gone.

More info please, if they spent the cash on a quick change, that SBC may be something pretty special.

Very cool old truck, you going to try to reuse the interior.

Wow! That is the Tag Sale deal of the week for sure. Meet Jimmy Franklin years ago when he was showing his restored Stagger Valve Fronty, what a nice guy.
