I went down to a friends place this morning, he has a bit of a s**** business and a ton of old Ford rusty junk. You know, the good kind of rusty junk. We get talking, and I tell him that I've been looking for a pair of 40-V8-60 wheels for a long time and that I've given up on the unicorn search. He tells me that he has a pair of 1940 wheels and they're NOS. Really? We go into his honey hole and sure enough, a pair of NOS, 16x4, In pristine condition, factory red oxide, with 01A-1015 stencilled on the inside. Never seen a tire, never seen a lug. Grabbed them before he could change his mind. I couldn't find a pair of used and sand blast them, for what he wanted, let alone shipping costs and our 75 cent Canadian dollar. Sure, they're not the 16x3 that I originally wanted, but sometimes you have to compromise and at the moment, I don't care.
That's great, man. It's a weird feeling when you finally find something you've been searching for so long, isn't it? I get that "Is this **** really happening, because I'm never this lucky" feeling.
Ok, got lucky enough to post 2 photo's, anybody in my area (Duncan BC) that could show me how to do this easily. Between the Mac and the I-Phone, I feel like a juggler.
Its great that there's no rust, but you might want to clean off your, uh..... excitement on the front one.
"Its great that there's no rust, but you might want to clean off your, uh..... excitement on the front one." Oh ****, i did get a little carried away didn't I. Ill try to be more sensitive to your needs in the future. So there's a little paint, or whatever, ( shudder) on them. Better than rust. Gl*** bead will remove any DNA.
