Ooo.. That's rough indeed. But still worthy of being saved. Was it previously channeled?

Rougher than you think, a lot of it is bondoed over pop riveted tin... Yes..tin.. And a botched
Choped up Chevy pickup dash tacked into place, the rear panels are just shaped tin with
A half inch of bondo... BUT. I have some
New panels for her and I got the frame yesterday, helped a friend put on a aluminum roof for it and a strait axle and all the front end hardware and buggy springs.

It also looks like it has Coupe quarters but with a roadster cowl and homemade doors and sides in between to connect the two. The body line on the quarters are too long to be roadster.

that's what it started life as.. Right now.. Its mostly tin roof.. And Chevy dash. But yea..its a 31 ford , has those ridges coming Bach from the window stanchions.

  14. Not sure but I think there may be some surface rust on the rear quaters...........!!
Great score though, a real project.

    Doc.

the doors where shortened...well.. Welded shut then tiny cut out doors where made and the car has been cut in half twice and the floorboard looks to be ruined from another car.
The fire wall was torched out too, the car was stretched around 4-6 inches ..or atleast that's what it looks like, my friend is driving his 31 here tomorrow so I can compare.

I feel like a plastic surgeon repairing someone from a back alley botch job surgery...that was done with duct tape and and chainsaw .

  18. Looks like it was a coupe at some point.

  19. Well you have to start somewhere! That will be a challenge but I bet you are up for it. Nice recovery. Now go save it. What are the plans for it.

I'm looking for words of encouragement. You know positive thinking,You can do it speech. But with all the model A bodies around why not start with a good one and save yourself the grief.

  27. Great score. $50 you can't go wrong. The reveals on the cowl and quarters says it started life as a roadster. Coupes had a thin reveal from the cowl thru to the rear quarter with a larger reveal on top lower reveal.

Well stainlesssssss, you have bitten of plenty - I guess you'd better start chewing real hard.
It may have only been $50, and no doubt you'll put a lot more in to it, but I'm sure it will be worth it.
    Good luck and enjoy chewing.
    Cheers.
