Sorry to hi jack but I have a similiar question. I am building a 30 sedan on a deuce frame not channeled. My 9" is to wide and I need it narrowed. Can somebody tell me what a common width is for my app? 56" hub to hub is what I keep reading...

  3. Hey Fella's, Got a question for ya.........
I just came across and bought a 9" out of a 77 Bronco, I got it to put in my
95 Silverado Southern Comfort Edition pick up truck. Haven't torn into it yet,
but plan on freshening it up after I do all that's necessary for it to fit in the Chevy.
Question is: Did this rear end come with the Trac-Lock?
I've searched the net to see, but got different answers.
Thanks for any info on this......... Ken

The hot ticket for the cl***ic bronco rear end used to be to swap Lincoln Versailles rear disc brake ***emblies on to them. They bolt right on, you just needed to turn the axle hub flange down a little. This is what I run on my OT 76 Bronco. Been this way since the 90s when I put it together. The 76-77 large bearing rear ends are the desirable ones for off roading, but they all should work for a light weight on topic build. Today there is any number of sources for axles, lockers, and brake kits. 4 wheel disc brakes look good on anything running open wheels like spokes or Cragers.

They could come with trac-lok as well as 28 or 31 spline, depends on how it was ordered
