  3. I watched the video again and as I watched it, I noticed that the chute lines were tangled and it does not look like he even tried to hit the brakes.
    I bet you that he was unconcious and not able to do anything. I know that Johnny West had an accident there that ending his driving and it looks very similar in the way Johnny was knocked unconcious from the engine expolding. He was lucky because it happened early in the run and he scrubbed off speed hitting the wall.

  4. I looked at GoogleEarth, and it looks to me that the bend puts the pole in Scotts lane.
    It may be the angle, but looks like the poles should have been further apart.
    Why not have the net before the trap, or water barriers like on the freeway.
    Sudden stop from 300 MPH is gonna hurt no matter what, I'm sure.

    What a sad loss :cry:

    I think the medical examiners report will show that he was dead way before the car hit the wall. That much hot oil in your lap and on your head will cook you to death faster than a turkey in peanut oil.
