It's my understanding that Scott Whitaker of Dynamat is going to unveil his custom Mercury named "Marauder" at S.E.M.A. this year. Does anyone have any pictures of it, or its build?.............Mike
The cars been done for 15 years. It was built by Larry Kramer and was seen at the Merc Deuce reuinion in Holland Michigan.
Its been done for a long time. It was on the cover of Hot Rod in 93' or 94'. It was used in one of those B.F. Goodrich adds that have the backgound as all the same color... It's okay. I'm not a custom guy. It has some cool Ideas on it, and I was impressed by some of the "Tricks" thay tried to pull on it. But it is by NO MEANS a driver.. As proof that it didn't make it to SEMA. It went on a Roll back after over heating problems. It's more of a Jewel than a hot rod. The Chevy big block Engine had special heads made that made it a Hemi, with TWO exhaust ports per cylinder. Then they put a VERY exotic injection system that never did work real well. I never heard it run while I worked for Dynamat. Again, it had some cool Ideas, but not meant to be driven accross country.
-Thanks Grilleguy. I'm a member of hubgarage.com . I thought your username looked familier. -I have seen that car for many years. I mis-understood a friend talking about it. I thought it was an all new build. My mistake.......Mike
No worries.. I'm sure he'll tell everyone it is, and how HE Designed it and built it.. like he does with his other hot rods OTHER people build.
Yeah, I remember it at the Merc /Duece reunion in Holland and a bunch of people thought it was the ****. I can honestly say, I never did, but alot of people that are even on this board did! Scouts honor
Once again during the time that this was built AND by the people that were into that scene it was considered cool / cutting edge / desirable. Think outside the HAMB. I was just making a statement. Damn people - chill out...
you wouldn't have any shots of his old "new kid in town" merc ...(think that was what he called it....) probably from around 87-88-89 ish.....
