just wondering if anyone has put a scout drivetrain in a 47 kb? I love my old project and thought it would be cool to keep it IH
My 80 year old dad has put a scout drive train in a 1940 International 1/2 ton pick-up. In 1985 I put a 304 IH v-8 in my 1938 1/2 ton International and it was amazingly easy to do. I'd be glad to give you any details. And yes it's always good to keep an old truck powered by the original manufacturer.
Sounds like a good plan,,which scout drivetrain do you have in mind? I had read of one guy installing a complete scout 4x4 suspension/drivetrain in a K model. I used a brand x drivetrain due to scarce parts in my neck of the woods.
What year Scout and Motor??? A 266 or 304 and 4spd out of a mid to late 60's Scout 800 would be great, reliable, and bullet-proof. I have had a good 266 siting in the shed for years looking for a good home, I always thought a KB would be the perfect place for it.
Sounds like a doable idea, but I ***ume you won 't be parting a reasonably rebuildable first gen. Scout to do it. Those first gen. ones are awesome and deserve to be saved whenever possible.
