I was just wondering if the Scrap Drive was going to happen this year, I guess I know now!
    Thanks Sam.
By the way, you need to change the date in your signature as well, you have conflicting dates. Gene

What time are you opening the gates (and will the swap space fill up), and what time will the thing wrap up?
I'm trying to figure out how early I need to roll out of bed, and my wife wants to know when I will be home, one of us will have to be home to let the dog out... .

  11. Gate opens at 6 AM for everyone, it wraps up about 3-4 PM
...always have swap spaces available, never have run out of room yet.
early birds get pick of spaces, they're all good spots, take whatever room you need, just don't take more than you need.

Is the swap meet spot still included in the general admission, or do you have to pay extra for a swap space?

looking forward to lots of pics being posted here

  17. swap spaces are $10 for whatever room you need, 1965 and older car entry with driver is $10, passengers in swap vehicles and cars pay $5 spectator fee....walk-in spectators pay $5.

Yes, tow bar tabs from back in the day. I flat towed to the strip many times with those brackets. Today they are just for looks, although they do come in handy if I ever have to winch the car on to the trailer.

Beautiful day for a swap meet, loads of vendors, now we need some buyers.
I’m on the drive east of the main gate, almost at the end, red 2013 Tahoe.
Bargains galore, ‘32 Ford, hot rod, early V8 stuff.

I would have enjoyed that, surely there will be another opportunity.
The crowd was kind of slim, there weren’t many buyers and quite a few (me too!) vendors packed up early. My first time to Boone County FG for a swap in more than 40 years! Nice venue and the Tin Butchers are a great group, I’ll give it a shot next June. Maybe the date change and it being a holiday weekend hurt.

The date change made a pretty big difference in the usual crowd, I believe. Lots of stuff going on this holiday weekend to choose from. I sold off enough stuff to make the whole day free, so it was a win, win, win day for me. Got rid of some no longer needed stuff, had more money in my pocket then I had when I left home after buying gas and lunch, and got to see some pretty nice cars.
On top of that, I got to shoot some bull with like minded car people, got away from the days "to do list", and enjoyed the nice drive and the nice weather. Gene

  24. The Tin Butchers would like to thank everyone who attended this year's show, you guys make the show.
The number of cars and vendors seemed about the same as the last few years but the spectator count was down do to the holiday weekend.
This was the only open date that was available to us after we first cancelled.

We handed out aprox. 1000 2022 Scrap Drive cards to car entrants and swap vendors, so that count was on track with the last few years. I definitely noticed fewer walk-in spectators (buyers).
We were just happy to hold this event this year after having to cancel last year.
Thanks again to all who attend this show....next years date below in my signature
    photos coming later...

Looked for your car there, Gene. Was gonna say "hello", but never found it. Must have walked right by you in the swap. You are correct, it seemed "different" this time. I was missing the live music, and thought the car count may have been down a little, but my son & I both picked up some stuff in the swap.

Went up to the show yesterday with a buddy. He bought a few things in the swap meet. I didn’t see anything I needed to own, but had fun looking through the stuff anyway. Got to identify a tool nobody knew what it was. Saw some cool cars in the show. And basically spent a beautiful morning having a good time.

I was parked on the left side of the swap, along the fence by the ball diamond (across the lane from the car show lot). The guy right side of me had a lot of model A sheet metal. I had my 49 Dodge truck pulled into the swap space and the few things I took along were behind the truck. I did wander away a few times., but was mostly at my truck between 8 am and the time I left, probably around 12:30 or 1. The sun was starting to get to me. The 1st picture is probably the view most people saw of my truck. Gene
