A "w" engine is a Chevy, with scalloped valve covers that look like a rounded "w" or "m". They'd be in cars from '58-'64, and big trucks from the same time frame.
    348 and 409 cid.

I'm sorta half looking for a 354 block and crank. "half looking" means next to free, because I can't really afford it and don't have anything that "needs" it right now.
But it's always good to have an early Hemi in the garage! I'd use Hot Heads aluminum heads on it, so I can get away with finding the less-desirable 354 Poly block.

I also just thought of sliding side window latches for a '60-'66 Chevy or GMC Suburban. These are stainless latches that attache directly to the sliding gl***. They are two pieces--one piece hinged to the other, which is attached to the gl*** itself. I need both pieces. If you find any, break the gl*** if you have to in order to get the latch off the gl***. I'll pay for any s***ches!

I don't doubt that the guy did s**** the cars...what I meant was, some guys enjoy having a story about destroying what somebody else would have wanted. The old "I'll let it rot into the ground before selling it."

Not much left of the sheetmetal. It's a shame to see all the stuff out in the elements here in Ohio. I would had given my left nut to have seen the cars in the barn.

    I need a deck lid for a 1940 pontiac coupe body # 2527. I think a 40 olds series 60, and a 40 chevy cabriolet will work too.

Some people just don't appreciate old cars. My old boss bought a really old farm in my area. Barn had a 1929 Stutz Bearcat roadster in it. Complete car in great shape just dusty and flat tires. The old owner (dead) occasionally started it. A little work tuning it up it was back on the road. My dad drove the car a few times because the owner didn't care about the car. I found out that he let it sit for about a month he sold it for $5500, because it was "collecting dust". Couldn't believe it. He said he had no use for it and wanted to recover a few bucks. He said "$5500 is a lot for a car that old". Told him he should have sold it to me and he said he would have if he would have known. It was then, that I told him it was probably worth 10 times that or more to the right buyer, and he became sick. :( No wonder the car sold almost immediately after it was listed. At least it wasn't crushed!

You are on the right track. Hood ornaments, trim etc. is all in demand. I need a "pontiac" script for a 41 hood trim. Glove box door with clock from a 40 - 47 pontiac? Ivory door handles, window cranks, escutcheons, knobs, etc. are nearly extinct.
Might be too much work, but those knee action shocks bring $100 each as cores. Wish I could be there.

Hey there LD, this is what I'm looking for. It's the exhast manifold but you have to remove both. If the flanges are not broken or cracked (arrows) I'd lowball him $5-10-15. It might be a straight 8. If it is, it's a No Go! Thanks, stick

I can't believe the s****yard was dumb enough to shred cars like those. I know the price of s**** is high, but even a s**** dealer has to realize shredding cars from 1930's is just stupid. especially ones that have obviously been inside for years. The **** in the pictures isn't as big a loss. I wonder if the guy at the s****yard is pulling this guy's chain, and just has them hid/sold already. Probably thought the guy got wise to their value and was going to try to get them back. No offense ment to those who live around there, but is this "hicksville" or what? Nobody realized those cars were worth more than the price of s**** steel? Luckydevil, I guess you better put old cars in your wanted list too if that's the case!

I just got a call from the guy. Now he's saying he's not sure he wants anyone coming on his property to get this stuff. He said if I give him a list of the stuff I want that he will pull the parts & I could buy them. I told him it's hard to tell much from the pics and that it would really help to be able to see this stuff in person. I'm not sure what's going to happen. I told him I want all the hood ornaments, stainless trim and the parts that people have PMed me about. He said he will pull everything and call me. Who knows? I asked him how many cars are out there and he said " a bunch, there is **** everywhere" He also said that there are more cars in a couple of falling down out buildings. I again asked to come & see all this stuff & I got a solid maybe. He did say he will try to get pics of everything that is in the field & I requested pics of the outbuildings with the cars. I am supposed to get more pics tonight. I'll keep everyone posted.

no kidding! Sick of these people who never take two seconds to do some research, find out if anybody wants it, they just see a couple quick bucks and screw everybody else. Great job, douche  Could gaurantee no matter what "gangster" cars they were, if they were in complete enough condition to tow they would have gotten more than $900 he got

could use a set of 28/29 Model A Tudor Sedan/Coupe Door hinges if he can get them off without torching. They're unique to those years/models though, so probably won't have any

    Oh Oh...
Dont look good. I'm sure he's concerned that he will have a bunch of hoodlums stealing his stuff. Tell him we have the money and we are ready to deal. I have a trailer ready along with two pickups.
    Waiting patiently................................................:D

I bet where ever he s****ped the "Gangster Cars" at probably called and wants to shaft him again...
Maybe he got wised up to the fact that he screwed up big time s****ping the other cars, and now thinks he's got a gold mine with whats left.
Hopefully this works for you. I think you should go in alone and see what's there instead of dragging a bunch of guys with you. You might have better luck. And you will know for yourself what's there, in case he misses a Deuce one of the falling down buildings!

    doh!!!!

the s****yard may have set the stuff to the side after the guy left....find out what s**** yard he took it to and give em a call...who actually sits there and watches the **** get shredded..

There was an old man in Visalia Cali that had row after row of old cars...my uncle said there was nothing older than 62..every big hot rod mag knocked on his door to see if they could look around and take pics or make a project car deal and the old ****er wouldnt sell anything...probably 200-400 cars and half of them ran!!!!!!! just sat there rotting away...he wouldnt let anyone go in the field to look at them...He died and the city swept in and crushed everyone of them as part of that clean air bill they had going where they pay you to crush your smog producing cars!!!!
