My son sniffed this out this week. He spotted it sitting off the road in the weeds. After some negotiations I drug it home.

I have dreamed of owning a 55 or 56 2 door wagon for years and this one is awesome!

Needs front fender work and rear quarters but the body is straight. Interior is super cool original in good shape. Floors are nice and doors shut like new. 80,000 original miles and off the road since 1971.

No engine or ****** but I've got a plan for that!

Can't wait to get started on it!![IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Congratulations! Can't be too many left in that shape.

  4. Congrats- tri5 and long roof, couple of my favorites all in one.
Has it been outside for 45 years? Interior looks well preserved.

Gonna share the plans for what mill it's gonna run?

That thing had to be stored indoors or that interior would have been eaten to the springs. I have had been looking for one of them for a long time. They just don't come up very often. Pat your kid on the back. He has a sharp eye.

Amazing interior. Looks like a great car to build up.

  9. Flat- that's what I was thinking. I know it wouldn't look like that sitting outside around here for half a lifetime.

Cool, white car that has been sitting that long and doesn't show any more rust than that should be pretty solid.

  11. What a killer find. Love that unmolested interior.

DANG!!! I've owned just about all every model of the 56 Chevrolet's, but I've never had a 150 Handyman Wagon. If I did't have a Sedan Delivery, I would have to have a 150 Wagon. And in white too!!! I have TWO sets of 150 quarter panel spears if you need them; just let me know, or if there's anything else you need for it. I also have a friend who deals in 55-57 Chevrolet cars AND parts. Keep it painted white, get a set of the early 70's Nova Rally rims, with the block shaped windows, in 14 X 7 and 14 X 6, remove the cap clips, and paint them white to match the car; it will look killer, believe me. Go over to Tri-Five.Com, and look through the Wagon, Nomad, Sedan Delivery forum; there's a nice 150 Handyman Wagon in white there also; very nice car. I'd love to have that car!!! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Plans call for a mild "cruiser" small block. 283 or 327.
Not sure if I'll go 4 speed or 700r4
Looking for a road burner here

Always loved the 56 as it was considered an orphan car. Subscribed.

Great find! I would love to find one in that shape. Hard to believe that nice for being off the road that many years. Score!

A model A coupe or roadster on a 32 frame would round out my collection.
