Technical Screen under carb for fuel atomization?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by blowby, Nov 11, 2016.

  1. One of the first 'infomercials' I ever saw on 12" tv had the slick sales guy switch a screen in and out under the carb while the engine rpm would go up and down obviously proving the efficacy of the screen.. This was back in the 1950s on late night tv. Just after the DMSO ads of the era which is also making a comeback. Snake oil reaps fortunes again and again only this time the products aren't made here. Lesson - wait for the ****ers to die off and sell it to their kids.

Hi. Just curious on the scented toilet paper thing. To check it's effectiveness do you do a before & after sniff test??? Ain't modern technology just wonderful?

...And if I remember correctly, these only got current when the coolant temp was below a certain point. They were installed for quicker cold start-up and cold driveability and had no effect after engine warm-up. Well, except for the air restriction they provided...

Drive down the road at 60mph with a tennis racket held horizontal out the side window. Then make it vertical. Think you'll be able to hold on it to?

Called "Torque Plus", sold by Jegs, Summit etc. about a decade ago. Alternate name "Horsepower Killers". ;)

Snake Oil? I had a "Popeil Pocket Fisherman" I bought off a TV add that I am sure would handle a 1100 pound Marlin!
