Sorry I haven't been answering emails and private messages today fellas... Had to get the 1946 H.A.M.B. Calendar and a few other things checked off. I'm back to work as normal tomorrow.

That’s the most important day of the new millennium.
My very first normal workday of my retirement. [emoji3]

Trust me, if you thought you ever had a normal workday, retirement makes you wonder how you managed to get all the day to day stuff done in addition to working a job. Every time I think I've got time to do something I want to do, I find myself doing something that someone else thinks is more important. Case in point, the other day I had just started grinding rivet heads on a frame when a neighbor calls and asked me what I was doing? He's hard of hearing so, after explaining twice, I finally asked him why he called. He wanted me to come help him get a couch out of the back of his truck and into his house. I didn't ask him how he got it into the truck in the first place but stopped what I was doing and single handedly moved the couch into the house with him giving directions the whole time. I got back home and started grinding again when the wife came out and wanted me to hang some curtain rods. Yesterday, I drove up to a friend's house to get a template for a rear axle bracket. The wife decided she wanted to go along for the ride. On the way back home, we managed to spend six hours in antique stores. The rivets still aren't ground. After all, I'm retired and not really doing anything important anyway.

In defense of my ignorance, I can only state that there are 11 Federally mandated holidays, 42 Federally recognized holidays and who knows how many religious holidays. During my working career, by contract, I was only paid for 6 of them. Those I paid attention to because I was usually working the rest and they were "just another day".

    Cool, year I was hatched.

  30. Yep, as a pilot, my undesired speciality was working nights, weekends, and holidays. We got paid for the statuary days, so that wasn't the concern, but it was a career of missing all the kids events. It was impossible to land in Hong Kong and then change clothes and mow the lawn. All that stuff had to be taken care of by she who must be obeyed.
Now, my stuff is going to come first, right after I finish the last two jobs that were brought to me last week.
    Bob
