Screwed by Howards Rods

The first week of December 2006 I ordered a set (6) of aluminum connecting rods from Bob Johansen at Howards Rods. The rods were finally shipped to me 28 February 2007. Not only were they missing bolts, they were the wrong rods. I talked to Bob and he requested I return the rods and he would build me the correct ones. After several promises of...."I'm working on them and will ship them in a few days" I requested he cancel my order and return my money ($649.75). To date I don't have any rods and he won't return my money.

I grant you $650 isn't the end of the world but being on a fixed income that $650 sure could go somewhere else besides in his damn pocket.

Have you ever been screwed without being kissed? I think it just happened to me!!!!!

If you happen to deal with Bob Johansen at Howards Rods, keep your hand on your wallet.

I had pretty good luck with Groden. He is in Tulsa and just a couple hours from here...in case I needed to make a visit. Good luck with this deal...I feel your pain. Ron.

 

Ron, hate to say it...but this is the wrong forum for this...this was the forum for the drags...you should go to the HAMB( Hokey *** message board, at the top of this) ...post there and see if anyone can help you with this...

The reason I put it here is because I'm building a HA/GR and I figured anyone else building one would come here instead of the HAMB site. I didn't want anyone to miss my message and possibly take a screwing like I have.
