SE Pennsylvania HAMB and eggs

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HomemadeHardtop57, Feb 29, 2008.

  1. So it looks like we need to rotate this event. I think that is a good idea.

I also think that the Yuengling brewery is a great idea. Maybe we can start out somewhere like that, then go south to the Philly are and meet at the the Independence Seaport Museum at Penn Landing. That place is cool. And there is a hotel there with some decent (though a bit pricey) food. Then find another place? There are a bunch of classic diners in Western Jersey and Eastern PA. So maybe there sometime.

    What about that?

This would be cool. I'm about a 1.5 hours away but it's closer than alot of the other places talked about.

Allentown would be good for me, since it's my home base. It would also be good for the Jersey guys..it's about 20 minutes from the border. But, I'd consider anywhere. Great idea!

Count me in. The '62 is just about road ready, and needing to log some miles before Cinematic. Lancaster, York , Allentown, Hamburg, Reading , all sound like good locations, we could switch it up make it accessible to everybody.

Yuengling brewery(factory tour w/ samples), is near Cabellas. And I think just south of Cabellas on 61 is a nice diner?

If this happens I am so there..

fwiw I have hosted a little get together in the past..
currently thats not an option, but perhaps this fall we can do something here in pville..

    Thanks everyone for the interest!
I like the idea of a rotating meet to accomidate everyone's traveling constraints. Alot of guys have been mentioning several places near a store called cabelas. For those of you that want to do a little mapquesting to see what kind of a drive it is here is some info. www.cabelas.com 100 Cabela Drive, Hamburg, PA 19526.
For the first breakfast why don't we meet up at the diner that is near cabelas that several of you mentioned. I haven't been there but people on here seem to like it. I will get an address for the diner and will post it. Afterwards, those interested, can head to the Yuengling brewing for a tour. I checked the Yuengling site and tour times are 11,12, and 1:00. So if we meet for breakfast/lunch at 11:00 there will still be plenty of time to make the 1:00 tour. Their address is The Yuengling Brewery 5th & Mahantongo Sts.
Pottsville, PA 17901. Here's a link to their site with more tour info. http://www.yuengling.com/tour_pottsville.htm
Now do we want to do this next month or at the end of this month? What does 3/29 look like for everyone? My car wont be ready..but can still come up

We should have a day long picnic or something and invite the striper.
Not sure of that spelling, I mean striper a guy that paints wiggly lines vs. well you know what I mean.

That would be a good idea for when the weather gets a little nicer. If this thing does evolve, a picnic would be nice for those that are coming in from a distance. I'm sure Matt (pinstriper/letterer friend of mind for those that are reading) would be into setting up shop and striping some cars. I think we should start with just a breakfast/lunch hang though

Wheels, where are you at. I am up for the PRP area as well(Pottstown, Reading,Phoenixville). My buddy SneakyPete at Hudson's Performance would be up for that. Probably could get Sawzall to meet as well.

  29. Homemade, I'll definitely try to be there. That would be fun.

Sorry I dropped out of the post I got real busy. Trying to get in some extra hours before I go to Detroit.

Spoke to HotRodSurfer and he seems game. I think we can get a few more folks out there.

    Can't wait!
