I'm looking for a straight axel that has its spring mounts 27 1/2 inches center to center and aprox 57 1/2 outside to outside of the hubs. A dropped axel would be best but not required. Something that can be converted to disk brakes would also be nice.

Hope I'm not asking for too much here but the less modifying that has too be done the better!

    Have a good day, Tom

That would be a custom built axle wouldn't it?
Check with the Hot Rod aftermarket or even better...with the HAMB Alliance vendors.

  3. What are you using this on? Never seen one with that short of distance between spring perch mounting holes...also measure width from king pin to king
pin centers...narrowest perch centers is34 3/8" for early Ford..46" king pin to
king pin.... However you didnt say if you application was Early Ford..

I believe he's talking about “spring mounts” for parallel leafs.

Guys I'm just getting started on this project, accually I'm still getting my thoughts together on what I want to do and what can be done.

I'm working on a 31 Desoto CF. Yes, I am talking about the mounts for parallel leaf springs. The kingpins center to center is aprox 51 1/2.

Could the spindles of the original axel be modified to accept modern brakes?

    Thanks, Tom

I think speedway offers a dropped tube axle with the spring pads loose (weld em were you want)
A lot of guys in you position go with a early ford style front end (more parts available)
