Looking for the name of the piano wire that is spaced around 3/4" with a burlap type rope at the ends roughly the size of a pencil. attached image might help identify it... all i need is a name, from there I should be able to find a supplier. thanks! chris<pixelmonkey>
Fits in a seat cushion right? It's support wire. High tensile spring wire or piano wire. McMaster Carr has it. You'll have to buy wire and make it.
I don't have an answer for you, but you might try posting your question in the upholstery social group... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=174
I throw it away and use a heavy cloth or light canvas stretched across the whole spring. Hog rings or hand s***ched to the edges. If it is a totally foam cushion, you can do the same by putting the cloth to the seat frame and glue another piece to the foam. It is a support wire, probably get used at the junkyard, but I don't know of new. Jack
This is standard material and any furniture upholstery shop will have it. Pretty cheap. Www.duboisfabrics.com has it along with many others.
