My ride didn't come with any so i've been thinking about getting some lately for my coupe, just not sure where to buy them or which ones to get? where do you mount them to? any pics would be appreciated. I tried to buy some at Vintage Ford in Sacto awhile back but they didn't have any thanks in advance!
I have lap belts in my '40 Tudor from Julianos. Nice chrome lift-type latches and I used their floor reinforcing plates, too. I have stock seats. The front belts go back over the top of the rear toe board and the metal brackets are tucked under the toe board and mounted to the floor so the bolts are hidden. Make any sense? I can get some pics later if no one else chimes in but I have some info/pics about the rear belt install here.
Hi Steve, I have them in my 36. When parked, they push into the pan under the seat. Mine are bolted through the floor with big fender washers. Mike
Mike, where did ya buy them and what kind are they? 40 tudor- thanks for the link to the pics and installation... nice!
I just got black lap belts with pretty cool chrome lift type latches. They were only $15 for the set from JC Whitney.....but they were about a mile long on each side of the buckle when I got them. I just took a measurement & ran the belts down to a local boot repair, who cut the belts & then resewed them on the brackets just like the original stitching. Carl Hagan
I second the Juliano's seat belts (see 40Tudor) and mounting plate. Safety is first and theirs is a good quality mounting plate. Jon
Seatbelts? Absolutely! My '36 has lap/shoulder belts integrated into the bucket seats. My roadster has aviation style lap belts. Bought them from Speedway. Better price than Juliano's and faster service too.
I have lap belts in my '35 3-window. If you are using the original seat, as I am, then you can lift the seat back and push the belts out of sight when you park if you don't want them to show for aesthetic reasons. Julianos or Speedway are both good sources. Hope this helps. Jack.
I'll take some pictures tonight. I will warn you now though........my seats aren't traditional and I like it that way. My '36 was built to be driven and comfort and safety were my first priorities.
thanks for all the advise guys, Jon ...i checked out the Julianos website and i'm going with those 50's/60's classic seat belts and mounting plate. seems like the best bet and the price is good as well. all you help is much appreciated fellas best wishes, CAB
