Need interior for a '50 Merc, or front and rear seats or frames. Can anyone suggest another make of the same year or so that fit good ????

  2. I used '70 Chrysler Imperial front buckets all electric super comfy. The two buckets only just fit the width. No room for a console. Like having a split bench seat but way better.

I have no suggestion on your Merc, but a trip to the salavge yard with a tape measure to check out whats in the cars.Sit in the seat, see how it feels. Then get a rough idea of the angle of the seat back and bottom cushion so it's easier to mock it up in the car before welding up support legs especially if you buy other seats not installed in a donar vehicle.

I put a 1962 Chevy split bench up front, it fits right to the door. When you measure consider how much the springs compress. The trouble I had at 6'2 was everything put me too far off the floor. I went through three different cars seats before I found the one I liked. The rear is a hand made bottom and sixties ford top with wings added to cover the wheel wells. Hope this helps.
