Event Coverage Seattle to LA and back in a 1940 Ford custom-GNRS

  1. WOW, great trip in a great car.

    Best part must be having dad in the front seat and your best friends in the back seat for the ride! boy am I jealous!

    Whats the story on the 40 did your dad and granddad section it and how much and when, is the suspension stock, great looking car and a great trip thanks for shareing.................

    Cannot think of a more beautiful trip. Lucky enough to have made it once. But not in such a cool car. Pretty solid dad there.

    But what the hell did he do with the dogs while he was wandering the Fairplex?

    Glad to see him enjoying such a great ride. I know he drives it a ton because I see it all the time on here.

    My dad and grandfather built the car in the late 90's in my grandfather's garage. It was the last car my grandfather built. He died less than a year after it was finished. He was in his 70's. it is sectioned 2.5" and chopped 2.5". It has the stock running gear with the exception of two carbs and a two speed rear end. The suspension is stock except for the reverse eye springs front and rear.


    He kept them at the hotel he was staying at. :)

  7. Glad to see he made it to the show and back safe. Killer photos of the car from the along the way, it look's like it was an awesome road trip.

    Next time I will need to do that trip in that car but for the Fathers Day show down there...not in the middle of winter. :)

    Nice story. Taking a 40 across country is super cool, bringing along a Border Collie mix is insane ! your pop is an adventurer indeed. Nice pics.

  12. Those are some awesome pics, thatnks for sharing! I remember driving Mr. Gambino and his two dogs (after we took out my backseat) from San Jose to Lynnwood. Good times:cool:

What a great thread,DropDead Gorgeous car and what a great story of that roadtrip.I know people drive their old cars far all the time but most of em dont have the original running gear or running gear from the era.I love Flatheads and I have huge respect for your Dad for driving it.Thanks for sharinig
