Trying to decide which project to start first! My Dad was a master machinist and Vintage Ford expert. Having been born during the depression to a working-class family Dad had great work ethic and was interested in cars from a young age having won First Place Junior State in the Fisher Body Guild competition 1947. Dads first build is on my profile picture. In 1951 after developing more building skills he and his brother built a 27 front half touring car body with custom built rear section they fabricated in their modest garage at home. Dad went on to produce high quality Model T and Flathead V-8 engines in his well-equipped machine shop until his death in February 2023. At that time he was building a counterbalanced engine for my 25' oak body truck, just needs the valve train finished, head installed, and axillaries finished. I have a stock head, 16 valve roof and 4 valve Rajo to choose from. When I was 8 years old Dad was building a 22 speedster with a Roof 8 valve head, Warford overdrive, accessory wire wheels. The time I spent with him in those days lead me to become a machinist and sparked my interest in cars and machinery in general.
Years before his passing Dad was collecting parts to build another 27 roadster with 32 frame, 59 A Offy equipped V8. All of which is now in my shop. My dilemma is to decide which way to proceed with these two legacies. Dad was toying with the idea of using a Shadowrods 27 XL body on the 32 V8 chassis. Going back to his early days it was all about building what was readily available on a limited budget so I am torn between these options.
