Didja mean the AMBR (America's Most Beautiful Roadster) award or the HAMBer award? ... I'd say it may have already won the later.

    I say it takes both!

As a model builder of 25 plus years, this kit came out before I was born...yet I have had some and will have more to build. This real version is just such an awesome accomplishment and I am really happy to see it done!
Imagine that? A plastic model car inspired this kick *** hot rod! (usually it's the real ones that inspire us modelers to build) :D

Actually we haven't started on that project yet, although we do have the donor car. Ironically the customer that wants to do that car is the same guy that owns the Black Widow. (That's why we haven't started yet, he wants to do one at a time)

There isn't an official open house (that is in November), but I think a few people we be visiting that weekend....of course I will be in Pomona.

Thanks again for your support. We just finished the car last night...a few days early! I need to sleep.

I believe the car will be in the same spot as the Ala Kart was last year, very near the big trophy in building 4.

Hopefully you guys can stop by the booth & let me know what you think, we are also in building 4.

    See everyone there!

The owner, Mr. Michael Feinstein, is one heck of a guy. One of the nicest guys I've had the pleasure dealing with. He has an uncompromising sense of asthetic. And well, we all know Troy can pull anything off right? And that they did with this build. I'm a bit young to remember the power of the Black Widow model as a child, but I heard so many guys talking about how they had one as a kid. Seeing the smiles on the faces of all the people viewing the car in person was awesome. When I saw the amount of detail I was floored - the tail ends of the front wishbones (tapered like a bottle) were perfect. Wow... What a car!

It got my vote for the hamb award. It looks great in the photos, but it looks fantastic in person. The truck is very, very well put together and detailed perfectly to the 10th degree. It's a really nice truck.

Agreed! It WAS a great display and really cool to see the car in person.
A few of us ran into the owner, Mr. Feinstein, on the hotel elevator on Thursday night. He did seem like a nice guy.... and sure picked a cool model to have built into a car!
