securing 'bones/radius rods to axle

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by alteredpilot, May 19, 2004.

  1. okay ive got a '32-ish front axle with split bones. im moving the spring behind which eliminates the need for the spring perches. does anyone make a smooth pin setup for mounting the 'bones or am i relegated to cutting the perch off the setup i have?
    thanks.

Buy a 35-40 perch pin. The hot-rod style ones are smooth on top.

I have a spring in front axle that has the smooth pins on it and will need the pins for a spring over, maybe we could trade?

Of course mine are still on the axle, lordy knows how long to get those*******s off.

  4. get ahold of me when you get 'em loose. a trade works best for me.

torch and a air hammer... get the axle red... put the king pin end on something solid (anvil, train track ect..)center the air hammer in the little dimple in the end and let'r buck

heat and punch them out useally takes me average 10 minutes....... dont even bother going after them with a hammer you'll hurt yourself......
