  1. I guess that's the reason we never saw the finished product,,it took an entirely different direction from where we all thought it was going and it got lost somewhere in the build and went toward the Street Rod show car route,,, HRP

Well said. I cried a little inside when I saw it at the Pileup this year. Almost as astonishing as when Butt Reynolds painted his 56.

    Holy crap, that ended badly.

Get rid of the street rod scoop and fish eye lights and it could be nice again - paint it black too. I also prefer the coupe top as well.

But, it's his car and glad to hear his son is enjoying it. Still a hell of a lot better than the car I had in high school.

Actually, it is a lot closer to the Newton art now....from the 80's

Yeah it was pretty bad ass for a while, but Russ can't leave anything alone and he has a bit of the JC Whitney syndrome. He was actually talking about airbrushing flames and whatnot on it as well, it is only a matter of time before that happens....

At least he took the initiative to build it in the first place. That car is over two years old. There has been plenty of time, opportunity, and cheap 4 door Studebakers out there for anyone to step up, grab a saw, a welder, and show the world how it should be done.
