I figured you were doing a photo shoot when I didn't see your car at the gathering after the day concluded. I finally caught up with your car today and I've got to admit that I've studied your build threads and photos and the car still blew me away.

Too bad I didn't find you near your car, I would have introduced myself and shook your hand.

Good luck on the rest of your trip, Bass.

    Day 13

Today I spent the day helping out on the #299 Christeson & Stuck B/BFR. I got to sit in the driver's seat while the car was fired to check it over before the first run.

I have to say that it was one of the most bitchin' experiences ever. There's nothing that can really compare to the feeling of whacking the throttle on a blown fuel Donovan from the driver's seat.

After the car was deemed ready, I then got to drive the push truck during the run. That is a hell of a lot more difficult than you think it would be. I have to push Ed as fast as the push truck will go, and the truck really wants to get sideways. A little sketchy, but still really fun.

Ed just made a test pass and got it up to around 230+ before clicking it off. The car has already made a 272 mph pass unblown, so it's got record-breaking potential. The current B/BFR record is 260 and some change.

I also got to meet and talk to even more people... it's been great out here so far.

Brian excellent adventure and thanks for all the pic's......

Its kinda funny when you refer to being surprised, as your have stated; people across your great country recognize your hot rod and yourself. Well hold on buddy, you have a great future if you continue with these kool adventures in a rod which in my opinion, is trend setting in a very traditional manner....

Looking forward to your first book as already stated.......... Don't wait until you turn 30 before you release your book... Ha Ha Ha

Hey cool! That bad ass '34 is the one my buddy Don Marks (local legend and pissed off Santa impersonator!) built for a Harley dealer out of PA named "GOV". That's my work on the hood roof and deck lid! One of my favorite patterns too! If you stand on the balcony at a hotel and look down on it, the louvers taper out from the grill shell and continue matched through the roof insert, and taper back down subtly to the bottom of the decklid... No one every sees it, but it is cool! Thanks Bass, I have never seen the completed car, it ended up leaving for the East while I was away. Big thank you, as a matter of fact! Chip
