    Ass.

Congrats, Brian. That's a hell of an accomplishment. Thanks for all the updates and pics. I know it's tough to take the time to document all this stuff while on the road. I'm sure it's clear by all the posts here that we all really appreciate it.

Have fun out there and here's to a bitchin', trouble-free drive back to Texas!

I felt kinda bad ass driving a chopped custom to Austin with my brother, we had no side or back glass and drove through some (literally) freezing weather...

    Not any more... Great photos!

Pretty sure the street rods were heading to Louisville, street rod nationals.

Thats a great trip and good job documenting it. Last year my wife and I honey mooned from KS to CA and up into WA in our 51 chevy with a teardrop camper. If you didnt like talking to people its a good way to learn cause people love to talk about old cars.

Have a safe trip and enjoy.

I feel ya on the bug thing. I am always amazed at how many of the little bastards make it inside, and alive, when I run with the windshield open. Very cool trip, thanks for the report.

    get with it!!!

  20. The bugs come in because the flow field around your window sucks them in. It doesn't happen on more modern cars because the contoured winshield directs the flow more outward than a flat windshield of the early model cars.

What an adventure! This is what it is all about. Not allowing the storms, flat tires, small fuel cells, and blistering heat to discourage you. Not only braving the storms but embracing them! Pushing forward in the face of adversity the lonely little Hot Rod refuses to be swayed from her course. Fight the good fight! That little Model-A has an old soul, she has seen worse times than these by a long shot! BRING ON THE STORM!

I did a similar solo run years ago (Austin to Spokane and back in 5 days) - great scenery, great trip! We will keep the porch light on and the temperature up for your return to Texas...
