as the story goes ........ someone my Dad knew built a 29 model A roadster pickup in the 50's. I know it had a lot of chrome, a Lincoln transmission, quick change rearend. It had cheaater slicks and reverse wheels. There was a plate on the firewall that was from the first Oakland Roadster show. The man who built it let his son use it in the 60's, the kid hot rodded it around awhile until he seized a piston, it ran but smoked. This is when my Dad bought it. He drove it around until the Cops told him enough. It was last registered in 71. It sat in a barn until his death in 2000. My Mom sold it to a friend soon after. Before it left I grabbed two fruit crates with parts. Lots of carbs, Holleys; Ford script; and Stromberg. Also two 3x2 manifolds. One Evans and one Edlebrok complete with linkage and air scoops.I am not a Flathead guy, but I have plans to make one of the manifolds into a display in a table. I was gunna sell the rest on Ebay. But then I looked up the Evans manifold and found this forum. Now I don't know what to do. I see all these Fanatics and I hate just give this stuff up to the general public. If you think I have something and I get alot of response I would rather do this here on this forum. most of the carbs are weathered and frozen, I am spraying them down with PB Blaster, and hope to free them up. hope this starts a fun, informative thread.
You should buy back the original rod or build a replica of your Dad's 29 rdstr p/u and use his left over parts. Though I'm guessing that your Mom sold the rod because you were'nt interested in it?
