It's been nice. But I'm outta here. Sort of. Have to lurk. Just no reason to post, you know, if you don't have it, you've nothing to say. No poser here. [IMG]

Trying to put something together safe enough to drive and race with out paying someone else (against my beliefs) with the spare moments I have allotted by life is just not in the cards right now. I have not raced consistently for two years now. And I miss it.

I've been offered a deal on a friend's car that's getting out. Spun her three weeks back, barely missing both rails, guess that sold him. I'm taking the offer.

On a side note, the spin occurred thru the top end. He lifted and the car stayed wide open. Why? A freak. The breather popped and instead of bouncing out of the compartment became lodged between the linkage and the valve cover. It's wired now.

Anyway, this car is not welcome here and I completely understand. Once the boat we're working on is outta here and a couple of other very difficult occurrences take place over the next year, I'll be back.

I will have a real Hot Rod. Take care, Bill

Haven't forgotten the CD's Walt, just have to get over there.

man, no need to leave because your new car "doesn't fit." there's a few people on here that are building cars other than traditional ones that just like the spirit, skill, and ideas of folks on here.

I am surprised that you don;t think you can stay around? There are lots of good ideas to learn and tech to discuss that can be applied to many types of cars. I also know there are a lot of people that talk it up big on the HAMB with their "traditional" viewpoint, and are lucky to even own an older car, let alone actually work on it and actually DRIVE the car.

Post a picture of your new drag car. I used to drag race myself, it's a lot of fun. 70 Camaro back half car, 7.0 @ 100 in the eighth mile, certainly not the fastest, but lots of fun. Just takes so much time and money, whereas the old cars I drive everyday and wherever I want. Fits better in my plans for current time.

Just because you have a new drag car does not mean that your interest in older traditional type cars is gone. I was looking forward to your progress pics of the truck. Think about your decision and see that you are making an error in judgement.

    Bill,
Could you PM me your phone number, so next time I am in St. Louis and out running around chasing leads on old cars and parts I can give you a call to maybe stop by. The wifes family are in STL.

If that's all you think of this board, don't let the door hit ya in the ass.

  11. No way. I have missed prime old car season 'cause of life and daily things I've got to get done, but I still manage to at least lurk here, even if I don't have much to contribute.

You just keep on hangin' out, and post when you feel like it. Meanwhile, we need to see this non-traditional new piece of fun you're gettin'.

If you still feel you gotta go, take care, and we'll see ya when the fever hits again...

I agree with the majority here, no need to leave just cuz you got a new toy that doesn't quite fit the "mold". I, for one, enjoy your good natured comeRODerie here and will miss it terribly if you leave. Please reconsider. [IMG]

Also, I'd like to see a photo of the new toy. Email it if you don't want to post it, but I think if a fat dudes asshole can be posted and accepted by some, your drag car certainly can. [IMG]

the hamb is where your heat is, not just the iron in the garage.

  14. I agree that leaving is not the way out...I will hunt you down and spam you with many pictures of fat guys with blown out asses!

    Just kidding! [IMG] [IMG]

I really appreciate your posts and have gathered alot of info from you. Hate to see ya go but if you feel you must let it be known you'll be missed.

I guess the see ya stems from the not posting so much anymore and that will lessen, you go where your interest lie at the moment. And read "This message board is a forum for TRADITIONAL hot rods and customs." This post is even off topic.
Right now I get to peek in, maybe time to add a remark and move on. Ask questions when needed, but very little input. Doesn't seem very fair to others. Both have become rare. A couple of post yesterday pretty much nailed it.

Troy's wife was an eye opener. Bad deal, and thankfully sounds like it's gonna work out. Very cool. Dealing with that right now. I have to slow down, relax and help my wife with her family. Right now I'm selfishly pissed when I don't get the garage time I thought I was going to get. When I do get it, still pissed it's not enough time. My problem? Hell yes, just hard to adjust some attitudes. So changing the routine around for now. World of difference in keeping a car consistent as to building one.

Root on injection. This thing kills me. Excellent post for discussion. Your not gonna tune an injected engine over the net or phone. Fire up? Yes. Make it consistent? No. Track time will work it out. And he should pay the bucks to flow the system. Money, but mostly nerves saved in the long run. There is so much to discuss, I don't have the time and wish I did. Not very fair to Root.

I'm typing this from work, quiet day. Not the norm. Springfield last week, Chicago next week. Being a vet doesn't get you the day off, being a government worker (wife) or a union member (friends and the shop) does. [IMG] Nice it's quiet here though.

I did say see ya LATER. Just not those words exactly.

Chris the door is always open as well as the fridge. Beer, Pepsi or Strawberry Chrush. [IMG] I'll PM.

The door never hits me in the ass, to quick. How about you athletic one?

Yea, like my 4dr '64 Comet is a traditional hot rod (or is it...). I have learned so much stuff from this board, and most of that information is in no way limited to just traditional hot rods. What is traditional anyway? Arnt mullets traditional?

What kind of car did you get? Gotta post some pictures. It will be way more on topic than some posts.

Posting less is alright, just dont leave altogether. I'll miss you mentioning creeper sex [IMG]

    Bill,
I don't get near enough garage time, don't post much, and besides my old stuff own a '65 Chevelle. None of that disqualifies me from being a HAMBer. But I'm not too worried about you saying you're leaving, because the HAMB is an addiction that once it gets under the skin of a true car guy, there's no cure. See ya soon!

WTF happened to the stretched A PU project? Or did I miss something? Damn, that thing was one of my favorite HAMB projects.

Take care of life (and your itch to go fast) first, we'll be here when you get back.
