well i did some trading today for old model A front axel for a 40 axel and 40 banjo rear and 3 sets of bones.. .went and rode down to help load the rear end and on the way back Ray asks if i want to make a stop, says this friend of his has been doing rods for over 30 years ..i told him sure, i'm up for more rod stuff on a sunny spring mich day ..figure this should be odd, a stock resto guy and a traditional stlye old rodder..well it wasn't odd..it was .... ....mind bending...dude has more tin in his garge/shop/barn whatever then i ever seen before..besides at autorama..32 duece 3 window..34 3 window...2 32 turdors 2 doors....a model A truck.a model A 4 door tudor..a stude pick up truck... a five window A and and they all are set up as traditional rods!!! then there was 5 open top roadsters in the loft that i'm not sure what years...looked like all were 30's, judging by the fronts, but a few were just bodies......his wife's late 30's or early 40's caddy, it was cherry..don't remeber what year for sure.. he was out front of the shop, sunny day, welding and grinding on the "new" original 32 frame he had laying to replace under the other 32 that he had just bought that someone put independent new style front suspension on and a sbc .when we pulled in....said it would be easier...he also had a few that i'm not remembering ..needless to say , it was a trip!!!along the stairs going up to the loft was over 20 complete, as in 4 per set, of aluminum slots and 5 spokes torque thurst style...and a couple of pairs of matching haildbran magnesiums....gonna maybe go down and check it out, guy invited any weekend he said he's there and the main shop door is open...all because i talked to a old dude named Ray in a bone stock model a, who is the fellow i did the trading with..figure i'll take the camera next trip down, see if it's cool to get some pics...
