I have sold several things here on the HAMB and all went well except one time when I had two buyers within minutes of each other want the item, the guy who posted first said He would paypal the money so I pm'd him back and no response till two days later,I sold it to the other guy who paid right away, I had told the first guy He had until 9 PM or I would take the second offer (the add was posted at 10 AM) he got ticked off anyway 2 days later?? My advice is set a deadline for payment when they contact you just to CYA.

I've sold several things on HAMB and never had a problem getting my money. I had a banjo rear end go to california, a 39 ford transmission go to New Jersey, a 40 steering column go to kentucky, and a 37 ford hood go to colorado... I didn't ship anything until I got paid and the money cleared and they paid shipping.

I have been buying and selling stuff on the internet for a while, using PayPal and other means (MO's, Postal MO's, checks). I've only gotten taken twice, and it was from being too nice to people and shipping parts before I had received payment. Lesson learned there...Most normal sane people will have no problem letting their payment reach you before you ship stuff, a sure red flag if they don't. PayPal is kind of a scam with the commision that they skim, but it is very convenient. Use good judgement, pack stuff well and you'll be fine. I bought a carb here a few months ago and the seller just dropped it in a USPS box with some newspaper, needless to say it was farked by the time it reached me...
